The first annual Southwest Lifestyle Media Drive consisted of 18 journalists who evaluated trucks in areas that include safety, comfort, and performance. In the end, the 2019 Ram 1500 Longhorn reigned supreme and earned the title Southwest Lifestyle Truck of the Year.
Ram 1500 Updates
The Ram 1500 features an eTorque system that maximizes performance and improves fuel economy compared to conventional powertrains. The V6 engine comes standard with eTorque technology, while the V8 engine offers this available system as an add-on.
Thanks to its redesign, the 2019 Ram 1500 sheds 225 pounds compared to the previous model. The new generation includes a standard 12-inch touch-screen display.
“The Ram 1500 Longhorn really captures the spirit of what the Southwest is all about. It perfectly handles our rugged landscapes when we’re out exploring, yet is exceedingly comfortable for everyday driving,” said Becky Antioco, president of the Southwest Lifestyle media group.
Ram 1500 Configurations
The Ram 1500 is available in two cab configurations with two box lengths and two drivetrains to suit different preferences for truck bed capacity and engine potency. Five trim levels ensure there’s a model for drivers from all walks of life.
