Big changes are coming to the iconic Ram 1500 light-duty pickup truck. The total redesign of this pickup for the 2019 model year is something that a lot of people in the automotive world are looking forward to. It’s getting a new aggressive design and a frame made of 98 percent high-strength steel.
Still, big change doesn’t always feel easy to swallow, so Ram has a plan that will make the transition easier for those who are still all-in on the current Ram 1500 design. In addition to the new 2019 Ram 1500 trucks, Ram will release the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, a model that is based on the current Ram 1500 DS model. This will let buyers opt for the more traditional Ram styling if they’re not ready to leap into the modern, muscular face lift worn by the redesigned 2019 Ram 1500.
The 2019 Ram 1500 Classic will even come with its own options for customization. It will be available in four trim levels: Tradesman, Express, Big Horn/Lone Star, and SSV (Special Services Vehicle). It will also offer three exclusive packages: Chrome Plus, Express Black Accent, and the Tradesman SXT. The ride quality improves too, with better handling and a lighter weight thanks to a link-coil rear suspension system.
