If you just Googled, “what is the least-ticketed car” because you keep getting speeding tickets, it might be time to admit you have a problem and step on the brakes. Because, believe it or not, the least ticketed popular car is actually the super-powered Dodge Viper, which surely won’t help you out with your speeding problem.

According to a survey of 526 past and current vehicles from, only 5.3 percent of Viper owners have received tickets for moving violations. This may seem incredibly unbelievable considering the 2015 Viper has a V10 engine that cranks out 640 horsepower.

And, it seems the Viper isn’t alone at the bottom of the list. Other high-profile, high-horsepower cars reside there, too, including the Porsche Cayman, Jaguar XJR, and Acura NSX. So, what’s up with these results?

“It’s not about horsepower,” explains managing editor Des Toups, in a statement. “The Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Viper and Nissan GT-R rank well below average for tickets even though they can easily double the highest speed limits. But those cars are also costly, so their buyers tend to be older and take fewer risks.”

So, the moral of this story seems to be: cars don’t get tickets, people do. If you’re a careful driver, you will most likely continue to be no matter what you’re driving…and the opposite goes for those of us with lead feet.
