We at Withnell Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram are thrilled that Jeep’s Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee has been caught on film in the wild! This is the second time this vehicle has been spied, but this time it looks ready for production.
Reportedly destined to be called the “Trackhawk”, the first appearance of this vehicle appears to be highly similar to the Grand Cherokee SRT. However, upon further examination, differences can be seen hidden behind the fabric mask.
It appears as though there is a new supplementary air intake below the grille, which will help the supercharged motor’s airflow. The air intakes are restyled and located in front of the wheel wells and the fog lamps have been lowered.
Jeep confirmed the Hellcat V8 engine being added to the Grand Cherokee at the Detroit Auto Show and is hoping to have this vehicle in showrooms by the end of 2017. The name “Trackhawk” has been trademarked for a while, so it appears that the name and design are ready to go.
We are (not-so-patiently) waiting to feast our eyes on Jeep’s new Trackhawk. For now, we will just have to enjoy these pictures captured of the latest test drives!
