Halloween Trick or Treating Safety Tips

Trick or Treating Safety Tips

It’s that time of year again for costumes and candy! That’s right, Halloween and trick or treating. It is a great time for kids of all ages to go out and have some fun dressed up like something they choose. However, we want to be sure that you all are safe out there. Be sure to follow these trick or treating safety tips:

  • Be sure your route is safe and you know the area. Many people like to drive to different areas thinking children will get better candy or have more fun. This can be done, but only if you do it safely.
  • Inform children to bring their entire candy bag home for inspection before they decide to eat any. It can be very enticing for children to pull their candy out and eat it along the way. But, you can never be too careful!
  • Children should always be accompanied by a responsible adult while out trick or treating. No matter how safe they think they are, you never know what can happen at night.
  • If they are old enough to go without an adult, be sure they know to stay in a group and to not cut down alleys or dark streets.

These are just a few highlighted safety tips for your children. There are more to read through in order to keep your children safe. All of us here at Withnell Dodge in Salem, OR wish you a Happy Halloween and want to be sure you are safe.
