Updated for the 2016 model year, the new Dodge Charger Pursuit offers the largest touchscreens available in a police car. These touchscreens, which previous Charger Pursuit models lacked, will help increase officer safety and efficiency, while also reducing the amount of space the typical dashboard-mounted computers take up.
The traditional dashboard laptop, which is in most police cars, can cause dangers to passengers, thanks to the fact that it protrudes out so far. It can interfere with passenger airbags, and it’s a bigger distraction than a touchscreen because of its size, according to Dodge.
The new Charger Pursuit, on the other hand, has a unique expanded version of Dodge’s Uconnect screen with an easy to use keyboard attached to the center console and Bluetooth and USB keyboard capabilities. The Uconnect system integrates and streamlines the law enforcement office’s systems.
Other equipment used in the Charger Pursuit still exists but is now stowed in the trunk for a cleaner and safer cockpit.
